Why Yii?

Last time I was talking about how great CodeIngniter is. Still if you've tried both CI and Yii you might find few notable advantages over against CI:

CodeIgniter

CodeIgniter is one of best frameworks available, as long as you are not building a big, really big project.

It will easily introduce you to the MVC paradigm, has a small footprint and great documentation. Moreover, it is backed-by an active company, a large community and just a couple of days ago released a brand new community-driven fork. Read more

East London is the new cool

As now I'm working in the cool area of Hoxton Street, Borough of Hackney, close to the Shoreditch and Brick Lane Market, now I have discovered another (cool) part of London.

East London seems to be a world of its own. How come this area is so cool?
This it isn’t really all that surprising, given East London has been on the up with artists, actors, musicians and TV personalities for the past few years.

Some say Shoreditch has had its day, that London’s trendy brigade have moved on. If you go to Brick Lane Market, though, it doesn’t look that way. The weird and wonderfully dressed hordes keep coming to the rough triangle made up by Old Street, Great Eastern Street and Shoreditch High Street, packing into ramshackle bars and independent shops. Despite the spread of affluence, much of the area maintains its original gritty, urban edge; many of the walls and shop fronts are plastered with graffiti. Read more
